Giving Baby Shower Gifts

If I give a gift at the baby shower, am I supposed to still give one when the baby is born?

Thank you for your etiquette question. If you give a gift at the baby shower, you are not required to give another gift once the baby is born. Some people do, but it definitely is not required. The gift at the baby shower is your gift to the baby, so you are not required to give anything more.
