Sending Out Of Town Invitations
Should out of town relatives such as Aunts and Grandmother's receive an invitation? Obviously they will not be able to attend because of the distance, but we don't want to offend anyone.
Our Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for your etiquette question. This is a question that gets more of a case by case basis for an answer. It depends on the relationship and if they are close enough to want to receive an invitation to the baby shower. The best thing to do is call and ask if they would like to receive an invitation to the baby shower or not. If they are far enough away that they cannot attend and you don't feel comfortable calling to ask them or feel that they would have a bad reaction to receiving an invitation, then a baby announcement is the perfect thing to send them once the baby arrives.
Hope that helps! Good luck with the baby shower!
