Is it okay to just serve dessert at the baby shower?

I was thinking about having a baby shower at 7 PM on a saturday night and a fruit and vegetable tray and cake and ice cream. Is this acceptable since its after dinner? Also, is 7 PM an okay time for a baby shower?

The only etiquette rule there is for serving appetizers or desserts at a baby shower is to choose a time that is not considered a "meal time" by your party goers. 7pm is usually an ok time to use for a party and serve desserts. You can also move it back a half hour to 7:30pm so your guests are positive that dinner will not be included during the party. It's up to you what you want to do but I think you are ok if you want to use the 7pm as your time.
