Little Baby Clothes Laundry Baby Shower

My family and friends are throwing me a baby shower in May and I had to look at things with them mostly because I am sort of a control freak lol. While wondering online I found a set of baby shower tableware that centered around a hanging laundry line with little baby clothes on it.

From there we thought hey we could so hang up lines of laundry around our party area to decorate with. For centerpieces we are going to get small laundry baskets and small old fashioned washing tub and to use and fill them with clothes and blue tissue paper to simulate water with cotton balls as bubbles. The table clothes are going to be old sheet with wooden clothespins at the bottom. We are also going to have washing detergent bottles with balloons attached to use as door stoppers that have a sticker on the front that says, "Welcome".

At the entrance where there will be a sign in sheet normally people have the guest write the mother an advice note on an index card and they put this in a box, at mine they are going to write it on a index card but use a clothespin to attach it to a laundry line. I got the idea for a cake from this website where there is a child sitting in an old fashioned washing tub playing in the water, why not do the same thing for my laundry theme.

Of course we will have various games but I thought why not laundry line limbo? or may see how many baby clothes can you take down from a line and fold in 3 minutes and the one with the most wins :D. One of the prizes that my family will be giving as a door prize is a towel and washcloth cake that is like the diaper cakes I have seen. Everyone always needs more washcloths and towels. lol. Another game we may play is "What scent is that laundry detergent?"

Baby Clothes Baby Shower

My aunts decided to make the invites which is how this started. I am having a girl and so the made the cover with little pink out fits. The also found giant clothes pins and decorated those, they made paper girls baby clothes, and hung clothes lines to hang them on. The center pieces were made with paper girl baby clothes and REAL baby clothes :) (i got to keep them.) It was actually pretty cool!!! For one of the appetizers i made mini sandwiches and cut them in shapes of onsies, shirts, and pants. Then i just made sure all the other foods were in reds, pinks, light oranges, and yellows...it was GREAT!!! (the plus part is, if you are having a boy, you can do this too just do things in blue....or be gender neutral and have yellow or green. and it is cheap and easy to do yourself.)
