For this baby shower, think of all things that bring luck and superstitions like old wives tales, fortune telling, Chinese horoscopes and gender prediction
Decorations
Put Chinese good luck symbols on the wall, to create a good and lucky atmosphere. Decorate in fun, bold colors. When I think Chinese I think red, gold and black, but you can use whatever colors you find fitting. If you have some paper lanterns, they can also add to make your atmosphere fun.
Games
Gender Predictions - Collect some old wives tales on gender prediction and find out how close they are to being correct. You can also use some Chinese gender predictions. They are fun to
use and see how close they are. Here is a fun gender prediction quiz you can play.
Fortune Readings - Invite a hand reader to give your guests fortune readings. If you plan on doing this, add lots of candles to the decorations to add to the effect.
She said what? - When the mom to be is opening her gifts, secretly record what she says, whether it is, "Oh, how cute." or, "Wow, this is perfect!" After she is done, read all of her comments together to the group to see what she said the night she conceived the baby.
Food
If you plan on serving a full meal, Chinese would go perfectly with your theme and works great for a buffet.
You can have the normal desserts if you would like.
Favors
Fortune Cookies. You can also make a homemade label for tea light candles or tea bags with a blessing of prosperity, luck and happiness using the Chinese symbols.
