baby bootie cake with daisies and footprints

To make this cake, I iced an 8 and 6 inch stacked cake. I made the baby booties with fondant. Then I added baby feet and daisies (also made with fondant). I finished it off by lacing the baby booties with a light yellow ribbon.

white baby shower cake with green and lavendar moon and stars decorations

2 tier cake. The top tier is bigger than the bottom. Color theme of the baby shower was lavender and light green. I put stars, moons and hearts on top layer. Bottom layer is striped with a big bow on it. I topped it with fondant booties. It was my special little touch. The couple loved it!

blue baby cake with chocolate dots white booties and brown bear

Joanna made this adorable teddy bear cake to go with her friend who was having a boy. The 2 tier cake was made with 5 inch and a 13 inch pans. The cake was vanilla with a chocolate mousse. Yumm! Each layer was covered with light blue marshmallow fondant. The trim was made with white marshmallow fondant strips. The brown buttons were also made of fondant.

Most of her decorations were made out of gum paste. The teddy bear, banner and rattle were made out of gum paste. The accents of the bow tie and the details of the rattle were fondant. She said that the booties were the hardest part! She made it all out of gumpaste that were cut separately and then formed together. So cute Joanna! Thanks for sharing it with us!

delicate pink and white baby bootie cake with edible rhinstones on sneakers

Mom to be just wanted pink baby shoes on her shower cake; this is what we came up with. About 2 weeks ahead I made the gum paste sneakers allowed them to dry and applied the edible glitter to the toe area. The name plaque and flowers were also made ahead from gum paste and allowed to dry. For the cake I baked two 14" chocolate fudge cakes, theb torted and filled them with buttercream. Then covered the entire cake with buttercream and then covered with fondant. I used a lace mold to make the pink fondant border. For the top, I made a small pink blanket from fondant and attached it to the top of cake with edible glue. I attached the baby shoes to the blanket with royal icing and attached the plaque to front with royal icing. The little gum paste flowers were attached with royal icing as well.
