Why should you buy a cake pan on eBay?
  • Why pay full price if you will only use the cake pan once or twice?
  • You don't need to worry about being burned. The seller rating speaks for itself.
  • Great selection! Chances are if the cake pan exists, you will find it on ebay.

sleeping baby in a carriage cake

This cute green and pink cake was made out of a 6 inch and 10 in ch cake. I made the baby bassinet, baby, shoes, dots and plaque out of fondant. It was really fun to make and so cute!

    bassinet baby shower cake

I took 3 oval cakes and stacked them together. I made the hood out of gum paste and let it sit over a bowl, it must dry overnight. You can get this in (you craft store). I made the baby out of fondant and blanket out of fondant. The ruffels are out of buttercream!

    baby blanket cake

This is a 3 tier baby shower cake made with fondant accent pieces. I used 10 inch, 8 inch and 6 inch cakes for the layers. The baby, birds and bassinet are all made out of fondant. I finished it off by piping ruffles and roses around the layers.

    baby shower bassinet cake

This was made with a white cake, one layer is pink and the other is blue,(cause mommy didn't know the sex of the baby yet), The hood is Pineapple flavored cake and the icing is Buttercream.

I used a 9 X 15 sheet cake for the bed and two 8"rounds for the hood, I used bamboo skewers pushed threw the hood into the sheet cakes to hold and support it. I iced the cakes using the basket weave method and I made the Bear, toys, blanket and flowers by hand using fondant icing and used real ribbon on each side for the bows.

    bassinet cake

The 3-d bassinet is three stacked oval cakes. Take 2 8" cakes cut in half. Use 3 of the half cakes and place them on top of the oval cake. use your buttercream icing to attach and keep the pieces together. Ice the whole cake in buttercream then go back over the bassinet outside with a basket weave and use fontant accents for blanket and baby.

    baby shower bassinet cake

One of my friends is finally having a baby after trying for over a year. I wanted her first baby shower to be extra special. I paid close attention to detail and I decorated my house with two different shades of pink with a touch of lime green. I added a little of whimsey with butterflies here and there, helium balloons, streamers, ribbon and tulle. Unfortunately I didn't take pictures of everything! I wanted the food to look professionally displayed, so I looked everywhere online to find a nicely decorated reception table and surprisingly I only found one or two. Perhaps I wasn't wording it right? Anyhow, I managed to do one and hope others will be inspired! I found these little champagne glasses in the wedding section and these were little keepsakes. I filled them with little shrimp and a touch of cocktail sauce. Get it? "Baby" "shrimp", and they are "pink"? I know I'm cheesy, but everyone loved them! I did go a little steep on the cake. I really wanted it to be special and it came out great! I had the cake designer go off the Shower Invitation and they did a fantastic job! It had strawberry filling to go with the theme of pink! =D The cake is from The Cake Shop in San Antonio, TX. I decided to go pretty simple with the diaper cake. I didn't go with adding bottles, rattles, toys or anything like that since I went a little over on the real cake. But I thought this diaper cake would add decoration and went well with the theme. I simply decorated it with ribbon and letters found in the scrap booking section. A couple of feathers to add some height and a simple little butterfly that was a different color than the other butterflies I had pinned all around my house. Instead of using a store bought Baby Shower banner, I strung up little socks with a couple of onesies and used letters I found in the scrap booking section at a arts and crafts store and stuck them on the socks to spell out Baby Shower. I found little clothes pin party favors, they worked great to hang the clothes up. And at the end of the party I had a little basket with the left over clothes and told my friend don't forget her laundry! This site helped me figure out all the little details and inspired me to come up with other ideas! Thank you for all your help! I hope everyone's Baby Shower is just as rememberable!

All of the other pictures from the baby shower are here.
